Error while installing the Pre-requisite for SharePoint Server 2013 (even use the AutoSPInstaller)

When I was trying to install the SharePoint 2013 (version 15.0.4420.1017 RTM) pre requisite on Windows Server R2 Std SP1, i stuck in this error:

2013-08-21 10:34:27 – “C:\Windows\system32\cscript.exe” “C:\Windows\system32\iisext.vbs” /enext “ASP.NET v4.0.30319”

2013-08-21 10:34:29 – Install process returned (-2146646015)

2013-08-21 10:34:29 – [In HRESULT format] (-2146646015)

2013-08-21 10:34:29 – Error when enabling ASP.NET v4.0.30319

2013-08-21 10:34:29 – Last return code (-2146646015)

Reason what I am guessing is the ASP.Net V4.0 not registered as 64 Bit and not allowed in the IIS.

Open IIS Manger>click on the Server Name (Left Pane) >double click “ISAPI and CGI Restrictions” (in feature view)2nd

You will see ASP.Net v4.0.33319 (32Bit) and not allowed (in my case this is the problem)

Solutions:

Method 1:

Start the CMD.exe as Administrator

Execute this command:“C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe” -i -enable

This will register the framework 4.0 as 64bit in IIS

Method 2:

If you love the Manual way to fix the issue.

Open IIS Manger>click on the Server Name (Left Pane) >double click “ISAPI and CGI Restrictions” (in feature view)

  • Edit both Entries for ASP.net v4.0.30319 (32Bit) one by one.
  • Double Click on the 1st entry:
  • Remove the (32-bit) portion and also any white space after the 30319
  • Check the “Allow extension path to execute” Box.

Repate the same steps for the 2nd entry as well.

Now run the Pre requisite again.
